A detailed analysis by Fiji's Commerce Commission following a cement price submission from Fiji Industries Ltd (FIL) has resulted in a price increase for the building product. Fiji Industries Ltd (FIL) has denied claims made by the special administrator of Suva City Council (SCC) of a cement shortage. Fiji Industries Ltd has started the production of cement today. The mill broke down two weeks ago resulting in short supply of cement across the country. Fijian Holdings Ltdd Group Acting CEO Nouzab Fareed said the mill is at 40% capacity and hopes to reach 100% capacity and 24 hour production by Sunday.
